Shopping Treats~

I bought stuff-uss~

So, back from Awalbah...or that how it's supposedly to sound like. It's kinda like a shopping district...I think (-_-')... Anyway, bought more and more strawberries (seriously it's never been enough for me..teehee) and also 2 pairs of tight since it's getting colder now and I for some very well-known reason been unable to gets up early one of these days (seriously, I've been waking up later and later each day) then again, the temperature just had to become colder and colder each day...so we're even (LOL) I also finally bought a pail for my personal use (I've always wanted to buy one and always failed to do so...XD) also bought is a cotton bed spread and pillow cases! (finally! I bought one since the last time I bought Effa snatched it away from me...well, she did paid for it...still!!) Finally, bought pair of black gloves. After constant arguments with the salesperson he finally toned down the price from LE 7.50 to LE 6. Lol he actually asked which university I were from and I hastily said from Al-Azhar taking the Islamic coursed since he for SURE wouldn't lowered the price that much if I were to confessed that I'm from Tanta University taking Medical course (apparently, only the snobby rich kids would study in medical field...here) so if you got what I mean, he would believe that we are the rich-snobby-kids with lotsa money to waste on since we are studying medic and won't lowered the price AT ALL... Tch! sick bastard!

I'm Cold

It's really cold here in Tanta now. The temperature is around 13 degree Celsius or perhaps lower. Seriously, it feels like you've just got yourself a personal brand new air-cond in your bedroom...and there isn't even a single fan in my house let alone my room in the first place. (now that reminds me during my visit to Alexandria where me, Effa, Yat and Nad stays at the MARA boarding house. They have plenty of fans in their house and they were using it since the house feels humid without the fan. It's like we all were back at Malaysian...and to think we've been living without a single fan back in Tanta and still feeling REALLY cold to the core!)

Ok yeah, actually this came in random. So I dunno what I'm going to say for the next...erm...dunno whatever...so, yeah I'm just typing randomly and whatever comes out comes out. So, if you're lucky enough I might spill every little dirty dark secrets of mine. If I did so, do me a favour...keep it for yourself, no need to tell the world about it. So, um...what should I say? Oh yeah since it's winter and it's getting colder and colder apparently in this season lots of strawberries can be seen. So, yeah you guess it right I have a bowl full of strawberries in my fridge. (actually it's not just a bowl it's quite plenty of bowls, but mine only one so the others are my housemates properties...so yeah whatever) I'm devouring strawberries (it's plural people, plural~) every single day...yeah (no jealousy there please) Since it's winter, I'm becoming more and more lazy...sigh~ It's getting harder to be seperrated from the warm and cozy blanket every single day... huhu...take today as example. I'm late for the first lecture and almost fall asleep during the second lecture. (tsk.tsk.)
Right, recently I've just discover something...and loving it. I find myself loving DBSK! (though I've known the band since their debut, it just I never really pay attention to them) My cousin suddenly trigger my interest on them. DBSK a.k.a Dong Bang Shin Ki or also known as DBSG (Dong Bang Shin Gi) and also known as Tohoshinki (THSK) in Japan. DBSK is a band consisting of 5 korean boys. (that's right it's korean boys~ girls) They were also well known in Japan concerning that they had lived in Japan.

Finally~

Finally...I am eighteen...yesterday to be exact (damn! I'm one year older!) Yeah, I've finally reached that age...and apparently, I'm still sick...I wonder if I'm actually synonym to sickness (seriously, what kind of person gets sick easily?). Anyway, it's been getting real chilly here...and I'm always covering myself with a blanket refusing to go out. (go away don't bother me! Ah~How I wish I had a kotatsu~) To make thing worst classes started today (I actually fall asleep during the first two lectures...sigh~) and...I...skip a lecture today...ha! haha...ha... well, it's only english afterall...so...yeah...in fact, my whole housemate (minus one person though) skip English lecture today...haha (that's not a really good attitude 'Bait Aneesa'=Friendly House...it's the name of our house...kinda lame huh? I pick it up...huhu) To top to that, I, Syafiqah and Effa went to Awalbah for shopping...hehe. We kinda bought lots of things (It's for the house anyway...since we've just moved in a month ago and still lack of few things)...and as soon as I get back I fall asleep immediately (haha) Now, my room is looking great and neat (my room was such a mess these past few weeks) Hope I can maintain it...Gambarimassu!

I feel hot and cold at the same time. I have runny nose and I cough a lot. To make thing worse...my chest ache regularly in this kind of cold season and the sickness (mostly it's the sickness)...Ugh! and my head is aching (though it's happen very seldom)

Anyway, I've watched Twilight movie!!! (Yes...I know you watch it first than me you-who-I-am-jealous-with-since-you've-finished-all-of-Stephenie-
Meyer's-sequels-of-Twilight!...yes you know who you are so...erm...I don't know...shut up...? XD) It's simply amazing! OMG...Edward is so cute, sweet, handsome...and...and...everything else! I even watched it two times hehe...though at first when I found out that the video is of low quality, my heart sink to sorrow since I've been waiting to watch it! But, me and my housemate (who I forced to watch it with me and since she's bored she agrees to it) watch it still (though before doing that, I actually search for a more high quality video and downloaded it)...we even squeal! I actually squeal at the sight of how cute, handsome, sweet, gorgeous...etc...Edward is. and how his attempts of trying to stay away from Bella (They are so cute >_<) though he fails miserably (haha) Then, both of us went like "second round?" after the movie is finished...and we chuckle at each other. Then, I hit the play button and the 'squealing session start'

I even promoted it to my other friends here and they went like "You make me so want to watch it....hurry and finished downloading already!" thus, we are having our very own movie night at my house after I've finished downloading that is. Just hope we wont squeal too much, loud enough for the seniors below to hear us!

Eid Adha

Happy Eid Adha!

So, unlike the previous year where I always celebrate Eid days (either Fitri or Adha) with my fellow family...this year I celebrate it with my friends. Though, I do miss my mother cooking during Eid day but there's nothing can't be done considering I'm away from her. (~_~)...and so me and my other three friends decided to go to Alexandria before Eid day comes and celebrate it at Cairo.

The Eid Adha here is really and far more celebrated if compared to Malaysia. Even up till today, we are still in the feast!! I get to eat Camel meat! It's really delicious~ Yummy~

Brunch-ing

Today is Saturday! Meaning it's weekdays. I wakes up late. Supposedly, I'm assigned to be the cooker for today but end up waking up late so we all had brunch! Nasi Lemak! By that everyone is satisfied since it's been awhile they had Nasi Lemak ever since we arrived here in Egypt. (Yay, for Malaysian food! XD) Gratz for my cousin for being a mother today! Hope I can see the child soon. It's going to be Eid Adha soon~ and sadly unlike the year before and before and before...I won't be able to celebrate it with my family, huhu. Though, I'll get to tour around Alexandria this year Eid Adha! (Hopefully)

Hypocrity

Sometimes, people can't avoid being a hypocrite. Don't deny it, no matter how good of a person you are, there's a time when you'll be one. However, there's a limit as to how hypocrite you can get. I personally hates overly hypocrite peoples. Like...when we ask to borrow something they act like they didn't care however we want to use it and in fact offered it themselves and when we do borrow it they talks behind our backs. Really, if you hated us so much don't bother to act all nice and sweet towards us then! What? "Judge a book by it's cover?" where the heck did you get that idea? Just because you wears something that makes you look like a really nice person that you wouldn't even talk behind people back you think people won't know what lies underneath that clothing? How close minded can you be? No matter how good or how modest your clothing may be, but if that heart of yours bear such bad thoughts...then it's useless. It just makes you worst than an already-look-like-a-bad-person person. That attitude is definitely despicable and you are expecting people to respect you?

Trip

I've gone on a trip to Cairo last Saturday sponsored by the university. The trip was only for Malaysian students though of course there are gonna be few Arabians (few lecturers, couple of students and few staff) following as well. We were told to gather at the main entrance of the university before 7:30 am...and being so un-punctual person I am...I wake up late! Even the other house mate of mine wakes up late! We were rushing early in the morning only to find out that we were the earliest one arriving at the university (pft!!). Well, it's not such a bad thing though arriving early since we end up taking photos around the university which we haven't had the opportunity before (I might post it in here...depends...) ...and did I mention how the temperature here have been getting colder? I actually end up not bringing my jacket (it was so damn cold that morning! and I was always feeling like pee-ing...haha) As everyone were coming around as usual we who were known as 'budak baitulmal' as usual gather around and our mood were horribly spoiled. Apparently, a senior wasn't satisfied with what we're wearing. She suddenly snap at us! I was like...seriously! It's not like we didn't 'tutup aurat' just because we wears pants (and may I add...the pant is not tight! It's loose!) and a blause (which only slightly above the knee) I mean...it's above the K-N-E-E! not above our butt!! (our butt were completely covered...so just what is wrong with her?) ...and to make things worst she only attack us the 'bb' (I'm shortening the 'budak baitulmal' to 'bb') they're even other people who wears just like us (there were even worst ones...but not in really really worst! just worst if compared to us) Though, we just brushed it off and think happy thoughts ignoring that senior. She doesn't have any rights to tell us what we're supposed and not supposed to do! Let's not talk about that unpleasant thing anymore...and so we were told that we're going to visit the pharaoh village and I (I don't know about other people) was hugely disappointed when we end up in Pharaonic Village instead. (notice the capital letters people!) Yes, it's only an exhibition and we only get to see the replicas only not the real thing! What a big fat lie! After wasting for some-people-may-know-but-not-me hours there we went to City Star. It's a mall located at City of Star, Cairo...and gosh! Isn't the clothing there stylish? and gosh! Isn't the price even more stylish!? haha! The price there were kinda like 'KLCC style' (100 and above) so, if you don't have 1k in hand...don't even think of shopping there. So, my plan on buying a trench coat were completely crushed upon seeing how bloody the price were. I only end up buying a shawl and cellphone casing (I still haven't bought a new cellphone...XD) we reached home around twelve a.m and everyone end up getting up late for the day after lecture...haha.

So, It's been quiet a busy day for me!

I've been unable to reply to my mother messages in IM. Though, I immediately 'nudge' her first thing I saw her message.

...and I found out that my mother haven't been doing well. I actually shed tears when I heard about her sickness. I was really sad considering that how my mother had to take care of the house without anyone to help her...without me by her side.

I hope my brothers would take a really good care of her and I hope you get well soon mom.

P/s: To all my friends...well not really all...but to Nadia and Izy, I'm sorry that I am unable to reply to your messages be it through IM or sms. Coz, I've been busy today discussing about the house well-being with my housemate and about our trip to Cairo tomorrow. I was really sad when I saw it! (the messages) well, I do reply to Izy's message and Nadia I left you a comment in ms and I left an online message in IM. Sorry guys!

So, maybe I should tell a little bit details about Egypt, where I currently am studying.

and as most of my friends already knows, I took medicine here in Egypt and was hoping that I would passed every year though I will be feeling really fortunate if I can reach 'mumtaz' the highest level for grades in here. Insya'Allah...

So, as I first reached here, the first thing ever crossed my mind is..."This is Egypt? I mean...seriously, Egypt?" Hah! That's right, it's definitely very different from how I expect it would be...very.

First, you can definitely tell it's not Malaysia, haha. (the cleanliness is a bit...)

Anyway, apart from that Egypt is very hurm...how should I say it...? Sandy...? Well, I'm sure you can imagine it...you know desert and all. But I didn't mean there's no tar of road at all, sure there is! I mean it's filled with it (how do you supposed cars gonna drive through here then?) But, some of it kinda like get covered with sand and all. Ah! and did I mention they even got Proton in here? (hmm...so Malaysia do export cars then. XD)

Ah! and houses here mostly are apartments. Well, it's not like there's not even one house that's like bungalows or some sort of that at all, but it is only present in some area what we call 'filled with rich peoples area' or whatever it is. Also, one apartment belongs to a family and they kinda leave the upper part of the apartment looks like it haven't finished yet (you know, it looks like a construction site and all) but people are already living in it. It's because Arabic will only built house when there is demands for it. So, if there's a demand they'll just add up from where it was left off. (selekeh...I know)

The food...hmmm what should I say about it? Right! There's a really popular bread here called 'ish' or that's how it should sound I supposed... But, well it's not quite my cup of tea or should I say my plate of bread...haha. Why? Mainly cause how they...erm I don't know...but they kinda like just put it anywhere and sell it off (you know...like on the road, floor...and you should see the state of the floor) and then eat it. (Gross! I know) and I shall not advanced more than that... -_-'

So, I guess that would do for now! Heh...

What a DAY!

Hey, hey hey!

It's been awhile... (though I just post one two days ago...is it?)

So, today...though it's sunday but it's not weekends here so have to go to the university and it's starts at 8 o'clock in the morning!

...and as usual I can't quiet understand the subtopic for Physiology, Respiration...seriously! It's like the doctor is story tale...to himself I might add. And to top to that, I got a major headache since the first class! I dunno why! and it got better as the last lecture ends (hmm...wonder why)

Apparently, my cousin is in a really bad mood today! Which I dunno what triggers it since I saw her chatting happily just a minute ago! She actually dared to take her stress out on me! (talk about mood swings!) and being a short tempered self I am, I tell her straight to herself just what the heck is wrong with her! Though she end up apologizing to me which I accept.

Well, we do live in the same house...

and so, after arriving here for almost a month now, I think I have become accustomed to this country (though I wonder if I can EVER be accustomed to how 'clean' this country is) I also manage to learn some Egyptian words which I use often for shopping! Here in Egypt, they didn't use the Al-Quran Arabic, instead they use a language known as Amir Arabic or better known as 'bahasa Arab pasar'

Though I really am not satisfied with the rules our association had stated that the girls are forbidden to wear pants when going out whether to the university or shopping or going outdoors for whatever purpose. (though I once do wear a pants when going out shopping XD)

The best part is! Here in Egypt they didn't call the students as students but Doctors instead! Haha. But, I'm not sure whether it's only applied to the medical student since I read it in a book that says the term Doctor is for educated man or woman. The lecturers of course were called Doctors also.

It's Winter!

Currently it's winter in Egypt

However, no snow! Which is sucks though is actually quite a good thing considering the fact that I can't stand the cold anymore when it haven't even reached the peak of the season. During the peak of the season the temperature is said to be around 9 degree celcius!

Anyway, study been quite well and I manage to answer the quizes well enough. Though certain doctors(lecturers) been stressing me out lately.

Missing home as of now! But I have friends here (though not the same as my friends back in Malaysia!) who are supporting each other! Gambarimassu!

Yay! Finally I can get a hold of internet.



So, it's been a week and a day I've set my foot on the land of Egypt. I first arrived at the Cairo airport on the 14th of october after spending almost 12 hours in the aeroplane. My backs hurt like hell after that.

We spent 4 days in Cairo (we're staying at our seniors house which is very fortunate since we don't have to worry about food XD though it's kinda unpleasant since it's someone elses house which means our actions are all VERY restricted)

After that 4 days we were brought to Tanta, where the university we are going to attend to is placed.

Though they (the seniors-->guys) said that the coaster (it's almost like a van but bigger and smaller than a bus) is going to pick us up at 8 a.m which we (the girls only) excitedly prepared ourselves up (in rush I might say) so that we would be ready when the coaster arrived. However the coaster only arrived at 2 p.m and so we arrived at Tanta at 4 p.m

In Tanta we were immediately assigned into who with who and which house will we be staying at...and I were assigned to a madame(whom I called Kak Intan) with my cousin while Effa also got assigned to a madame house (Kak Ana) and our house turns out to be side by side. while the others were assigned to the seniors houses.

We stayed at the madames' house for two days and were immediately got shifted to another empty house. Which means it's OUR house though it's temporary only but well no seniors or whatsoever. So yeah! Only us four! I got myself a room while my cousin and effa shared a room and another person who's under YIK (I'm too lazy to mentioned what 'YIK' stands for so just googled it of you wanna know) also have a room for herself.

However! The house is in a rather VERY unpleasant state! So it turns out that we spend the whole night cleaning up the house. The house look REALLY terrible! I can't even imagine how the seniors (who got another house) live in there! Now, it's looking BETTER than before. (though I can't wait to moved to our owned house)

I'm too lazy to upload all the pictures I've taken as soon as I set my foot here so I'm going to do that tomorrow (maybe XD)

So, today is quite a hectic day for me and my family. My mother wakes me up at 8 (seriously! It's a freakin' 8 am and I'm already up?)

We all departed from our house at 8.45 and went to Bangi to visit our relatives over there in conjunction of Eid Day.

...and are finally back at 4.23 p.m and I straightaway doze off to sleep haha
